Several weeks ago, I made the commitment to write a blog post and share it on social media everyday. At the time, I didn't have much on my plate in terms of big goals and daily tasks. Simply put, the blog was my biggest agenda item each day.
However, with each day and week since I started, I've put more and more things on my plate. Over time, the blog has become increasingly less important than some of the "bigger" things I'm up to - like selling my first ebook on Amazon and building my life coaching business.
After talking with a mentor of mine, it's clear that although very awesome and valuable, most people (especially my target audience) don't read articles as their main way of consuming information. Thus, using blog posts as my main way of providing value is not a wise or practical idea.
Although the blog plays a role in my big goals, the part it plays is less than 10%. Thus, I will only be spending 10% of my time, energy, and focus on it from now on. Anything more than 10% spent on my part is a negative return on investment.
Instead, I will be transferring to YouTube where my voice, energy, and emotions can translate even better. More importantly, this is where my target audience hangs out most and consumes content.
As for this blog? I'll use this as a place to encapsulate cool experiences, lessons, and breakthroughs I encounter on a daily basis. It's more of a "what's Gabe up to" or "I wonder what Gabe has to say lately" kind of thing - the place I share.
Personally, what I'm looking for is a way to simplify the writing process: AKA (1) shorten the time it takes to write to about 15 minutes, and (2) STILL be able to provide valuable content in the case that people love reading.
Like I said, at this point, it's more important to focus on the platforms that will bring the most value and highest probability of reaching my target audience. Aka YouTube > Blogging.
That said, THANK YOU SO MUCH for being a part of this journey. I am humbled and grateful at the same time. Your support means a lot. I can feel the love from here <3
To growth and success!
